Thinking about making a weekend trip to Dallas with the s/o in mid-August since I've got a $200 flight voucher that expires around that time and flights there are cheap.

Just wondering if there's anything outside of the arboretum and JFK stuff that I should check out.

You're certain to sweat your arse off that time of year.

The Perot Science Museum is awesome.

Also, go to a Rangers game if you can get out to Arlington.

Perot is on the list.

I'll have to see if the rangers are at home that weekend, but that's a solid idea. Went to a game last year the day after the Lsu game and it was hot as hell, so I'll have to check the weather too.

Also, the George W. Bush Library and Museum is fantastic. It is at SMU.

Pecan Lodge BBQ (get there before open)
JFK memorial
W library

Not the best time for arboretum unless y'all really love plants and heat.

Dallas or Ft. Worth zoo early in day. Billy Bobs and stockyard if you can get to ft. Worth. Both cities have solid arts districts/museums nowadays.

That is great BBQ but if he is here for one weekend a 1.5 hr wait is not worth it

My favorite bar is a place called Black swan Saloon. It's in Deep Ellum and it doesn't even have a sign. The best bartender in dallas works there.
