That's a bummer, but let's have some real talk here for a moment.

It's his first full season of pro ball a little early to crown this pick a miss. Is he performing well right now? No, but can he turn it around in the future? Sure.

But man those three college bats they drafted this year (Davis, Fisher, Reed) have hit the ground running for Tri-City so far so that's nice.

I'm going to the games Saturday and Sunday.
Anyone know where I can find Astros memorabilia around the BR area?

Also the wind was blowing 25 MPH to centerfield and he did have 5 strikeouts to 1 walk

Although it's overpriced, the Astros shop at the stadium has some REALLY nice stuff in there.

I tend to agree but it's getting harder and harder. He's going to be 23 in a week and he's facing guys much younger than him relatively speaking. I think it's obvious Bryant should've been the pick. His bat in MMP + playing a position of need, yikes.

Let me say, I've never seen Appel pitch. I keep reading about the wind factors so maybe it's not time to panic but the age thing is a concern. He should be dominating that league.

I will say that Lancaster's park is a launch pad. He wouldn't be the first pitcher to suffer playing in that park. But its not impossible to pitch well there. I'm not going to declare him a best just yet. But he's making me wish we took Bryant even more so than I did when we drafted him.

That's how I look at it too. Also, he hasn't been healthy starting with surgery before the season started and already a trip to the DL during the season. That's a lot to deal with in the first few months of your first full pro season. But, if he doesn't at least show improvement over the 2nd half of this season and into next, then I might start getting worried.

8th wonder brewery isn't too far but I don't think the beers are that great. If you want to do the brewery thing before the game take uber to saint Arnold

Stop by the Saint Arnolds bar behind the Crawford Boxes.

You can stop by an Academy on the way in Houston to get the apparel you need. Much cheaper than MMP. There is one on I-10 right after Baytown in Houston.

so Clint Robinson was recently DFA'ed from the Dodgers.

His AAA numbers are pretty good.

What's the knock on this guy?

Damn, 4th year in AAA and he's almost 30. Solid numbers, though.
