Where have all the "insiders" gone?

This time last year, this board was teeming with "insiders" who knew all the scoops about the 2014 recruits. This year, there seems to be almost none of that. Even 247 has a suspicious lack of "inside info" from posters. Is it because the way the class turned out exposed most of the insiders as full of crap or is it that people are now hesitant to spill information and be wrong?
It seems as most of the active posters on the board so far for the 2015 cycle have been posters who have never claimed to have "sources."
What's the board's take, is it better this way?

What schools have big recruits this year that also had big recruits last year? If you have sources at a school, but LSU isn't coming around because they aren't recruiting anyone this year, what do you have to post?

First, I've never heard anyone actually call themselves an "Insider." That was a label mockiningly put on some by other posters. JJ is absolutely right, different schools, different people this year.
I knew two family's last cycle and one kid is at Okla St and the other, LSU. This cycle I don't know anyone but the kid from EJ and there's not a lot to say.
1/2 probably has had an effect on people's boldness in posting though, without a doubt.

Who are the insiders?
I can remember several guys with accurate info. Seems like this board is all about discovery too.
Part of what makes this a great place is people with connections at all of the different schools sharing info.

As the people above me already stated, people were basically trolled last year by a few recruits, and that included people who get paid to do this stuff.
The posters who had legitimate sources weren't wrong, just the info that was passed to them was bullshite. But people on here are so impatient and they want things now now now, if any info that comes out is wrong, then that poster is full of shite, doesn't have any "sources", blah blah blah. So after last year, most of the guys on here are probably skittish about releasing info.
As much as I like to see or hear the rumors, I would rather it go back to the way it was when info very seldom came out, and we all had to wait until Signing Day to see who LSU got. But I know that cat is not going back in that bag.

It feels like a pretty slow board compared to last year. I'm also guessing last year was an anomaly for this board anyway. It was my first year following (started last January) and I just about lived on this board, but now it's mostly dry.
What it did offer me was a way to get through the summer by following not just LSU, but national recruiting.

last year was unique for sure but this year has been slower than normal...mainly because of the super early commitments from big names.

ETA: j/k...I haven't really been participating as usual bc I still haven't shook back from the Under Armour game....plus this class isn't as exciting as last years class. I really think we all learned a valuable lesson that day and are more hesitant to post things on public forums now.

When the actual insiders who have jobs as such can't get it right anymore, you know it's getting bad. The game has changed and the majority of kids coming out have no problem lying to people's faces. The day of the recruiting insider has come and gone. I am trying to get away from following it other than looking to see who our current commits are, but even then there is a decent possiblity they don't sign. Long story short 1/2 fricked my recruiting world up.
