Run the freaking ball down opponents throats. It may not be real pretty but it gets the job done and wins football games. With this strong Oline the running backs we have( Buga) it should add up to lots of wins. I think 9 or 10... Geaux tigers!!!!

Pound the rock to set up playaction. I like it

One thing though, we can actually run some spread read option with these QBs. Will be nice to have in the play book again, we will be dangerous on O, I bet that!

We'll do like we did in 2011. We literally ran the ball 68% of the time. For reference, Auburn ran the ball 72% of the time last year.

We ran it 64% of the time in 2010 to 11 wins.

I'd say with our defense, OL, and backfield (including the QBs), we should run our way to 10-11 wins.

Yes, he most certainly will.

Why?

Because there is only one DC in the nation that knows what to do when dozen NFL caliber DBs find themselves on the same college team.

3-1-7

Alright, I'm a little puzzled. What does the number and quality of DBs have to do with the ratio of run to pass of the Offense?

And unlike 2011 we have running QB's that can actually complete a pass. Everyone stacked the box on us and while Lee made them pay sometimes the two guys we have this year will do that and more.

He's saying Chavis will run a 3-1-7 instead of a 4-4-3 or 4-2-5.

Basically, don't listen to what he's saying.

With Cameron calling the plays, we won't rely on QB for everything but we will throw the ball also. Cam knows we have too many weapons at WR and at TE not to throw it. He won't put it on the QB to win the whole game, or press the pass if it's not working though. A lot at stake in recruiting guys like Tyrone Johnson and George Campbell to not even attempt to throw the ball. That could seal the deal for schools trying to get those guys. No way we revert back to the poor one dimensional offense we used to have now that we have Cam. I'm looking for 60-65% run and 35-40% pass ratio.

agreed. Even if the Run:Pass ratio ends up the same in 2014 that it was in 2011 there will be significant differences. One of the most important differences we will see IMO will be the route trees when we do pass. Avoiding the word "predictable", I think the route selection pre-Cam (especially under Stud) was O formation based and did a poor job of taking advantages of D formation/weaknesses. To take it a level further if QB play looks more like Jr/Sr level play than Freshman, the route selections will try to CREATE defensive weak spots.

Win ugly with good players. At the end it doesnt matter how you get there but it would be nice to look good doing it. Also hope the big lovable baffoon has been working on his clock management skills during the off season.

I expect that too. The other thing is that I expect the passing game to start off with a majority of short routes (15 yds or less)with a few HR routes a game to keep safeties honest. I expect the same playbook but some new plays inserted to get these young skill players the ball in space.

Maybe this will be the year of the TE!

It's not that simple. We have proven that without a passing game we can't win because of the 9 man fronts.

With dangerous passing game we're free to run the ball. Without, it's like playing Red Rover.

Methinks they will be more run-oriented vs Whisky and then incorporate more passing into the powderpuff games to get these young guys ready for SEC.

At least that's what I'm hoping they do. After Wisky, the rest of the OOC slate is embarrassing. We should try to get in around 30+ passes in each game. We need these guys prepared to win us some games down the road if it comes to that. Once we get to Auburn, hopefully we are just ramping up on offense.

What Miles does best is win! He has won running the ball and won throwing the ball. If we can run, we will. If we can throw, we will. If we can do both, we will.

I'm thankful CC is here or it would be 70-30 with 8 or 9 wins.
We throw more than people think, it may wind up around 60-40 but if we cant throw against certain teams we are not going to win 10 or 11. I think we can win 10 or 11.
