quote:I think he can definitely be a good one, but he reminds me of Sterling before his breakout last year. He's got a ton of pace and a good dribbler, but he's still got a long way to go. He's a good presser and will be able to contribute in spot duty though which I think is why Brendan likes him, aside for his potential.
I'm really excited to see Markovic and how long it takes him to acclimate.. I really think he can better than the three below...

Even if we don't finish top 4 this year, we should be in a great position going forward.

IMO he's technically superior to Sterling (even now)... He needs to add more goals to his game..
I think he'll see more than spot duty, but it all depends on how well he acclimates to the EPL.. He's a bit small so there is no guarantee he will straight away, but I can see him having a Coutinho like impact straight away... Anyway, one of those 4 will most likely see the bench every game, no way we can accommodate all four... again, nice problem to have...
I'm really anxious to see who we bring in at CB and LB... I'm thinking RB will be by committee of Johnson, Flanagan and Wisdom. Hopefully Johnson has a fire lit under him in a contract year, so to speak.. I think Sakho really takes it to the next level too and becomes the player we saw in Brazil..
edit: Just read a report saying Wisdom maybe loaned to WBA for the season..

quote:I don't know. I know I haven't seen a ton of him other than mostly highlights, but a lot of what he shows is pace on the break where he'll certainly fit in well with us. But I thought Sterling showed a lot this past year. I know I was very skeptical when BR moved him to the hole, but he really impressed me with his ability to maintain position in tight spaces and pick out passes. That said, I still prefer Coutinho in the middle.

And I think we'll be fine without Wisdom. I'd like if he got games at CB though. I know Glen can be frustrating as hell sometimes, but he's still prolly our best fullback in the squad. Plus Flanagan and Kelly with McLaughlin from the academy able to cover in if we're desperate. Still think we need more cover at LB. I'm perfectly ok with Enrique being our starter if he's healthy, but that's no guarantee and Flanagan was fine there, but I'd prefer a true LB.
The preseason tour will be interesting to see a lot of our fringe guys trying to fight to see if they deserve time in Cups or all the extra games we'll be playing in or if their time's up. Kelly, Robinson, Coady, Yesil, Coates? and of course the younger guys like Ibe, Rossiter, and whoever else we may bring.

That is awesome. We've been linked to Lukakku, Bony, and Remy. I'd say Brendan wants a big arse fast strong target man. And I'm reading we're inquiring about Arda Turan? I guess that puts Shaqiri to bed? Anyone heard anything about the connection to Bakkali?

I'd love to get Lukaku... I just wonder if CFC would sell him to us?

Be nice for the Rodgers -Mourinho connection to bear fruit. I'll take Hazard and Schurrle while we're at it.

Lukaku.... Just came everywhere

I have a hard time seeing him sell lukaku to us. But that would be great. His current ability plus upside is tremendous.
Glad we are so active so early but really wish some more things would start becoming official.
Plus I have to try to figure out who I want on the back of my away kit.

So, I'm sure you've all read the rumors late yesterday and this morning saying we are going all out on a £45mm bid for Reus?
I believe it started with someone named Kike Marin (not familair)
Tony Barrett came out this morning and said the club don' know where these rumors started... which makes me believe there is some truth to it, since when do they really comment on rumors...
Anyway, def not thinking will sign him, but we'd be stupid not to sound out him and Dortmund... would be an excellent replacement for Luis (meaning Marquee, not like for like).. and make us forget we lost out on Alexis..

Had not heard about Reus but would be ecstatic to get him. I'd rather a bit less money but hey - get a guy like that and I'd be happy that we at least tried to replace the immediate loss of quality.

I'd really like to see the Moreno deal work out. I think that could potentially do just as much good for the team as a deal for Lukaku.

Now that we have a little extra cash, I see us doing what it takes to get Moreno and Lovren... Both are relatively young at their positions with big upsides...
Posted on 7/14/14 at 9:23 am to TFTC
frick me they just changed 10 fixture dates and times including opening day... Instead of Saturday the 16th it's now on Sunday the 17th... The day I'm leaving for California

What time? And I am even more in love with soccer now... I don't know how Ididn't realize this before, but soccer match times on Saturdays/Sundays don't interfere with my football times here.
I can't believe how quickly I became a fan... This time last year I refused to even give soccer a chance. Now I am a DIE HARD Liverpool fan, trying to learn eveything I can about the team history and the game itself.

Looks like Ayre is in Spain looking to close out Moreno at 18 which would be huge week along with Markovic. Reus....................make us dream.
