Gerrard has to be subbed if we are going to win this. Put on Borini/Lambert and move Sterling to the left side wing.

Yeah, that's exactly why I don't get it, what could he have seen that made him make that change mid-half, it doesn't make much sense.

Our midfield was being overrun and Sterling had no support. Making the switch pushed Markovic up where he was more effective and we were better attacking. Of course though, Can and Skrtel just have been a used on the right side. Thought Balotelli should've come in for Gerrard.
He's a liability defending on the holding spot, but at least he can get on the ball and make some kind of impact. Higher up, he's too slow to find space and can't press or run on a counter, which is where we're most dangerous.

We'd have been fortunate to level the score though... We played like dog shite for 90% of the match, the score probably ended up where it should have, we had no business winning that game

Up into Balo buried that goal on the offside call, I agree. Should have been extra time. I hate when assistants make that obvious of a screw up.
