walgreens started opening up these nice stores in downtown chicago maybe three years ago. they've got decent sushi bars, froyo, wine bar, bakeries, smoothies, and other things. i kinda like these new stores. and now i often end up grocery shopping there. often the prices are better than local groceries too.

they just opened a new one in the wrigley building on mich ave. they have $3 off coupons, so what i've been doing is buying tons of their 20oz gold peak iced tea bottles this week. normally they cost $2, but with your membership card, it's down to 1.50. better than that, for each you buy, in separate purchases, you get a 1.50 rewards coupon back. also on sale this week have been the 1 lb pistachio bags
normally these go for $12, but they on sale for $6/lb this week.

with the new store coupon and my cash rewards, i can get 3 lbs of pistachio and 3 bottles of iced tea for a total under $20. retail would be almost 45.

i also like getting milk at walgreens. every other week i can get a gallon of dean's milk, which is i guess like brown's milk in nola. it's good. groceries have it at 4.00 or higher. i can get it usually for $2.50, sometimes cheaper, as cheap as 2.00.

if you know how to work walgreens, you can make it a cheap store to buy your groceries from.

Just sounds like the crackling from a pile of money on fire by saying "going make grocery at Walgreens/cvs)"

froyo is to frozen yogurt what poboys is to poorboys

but because frozen yogurt doesnt have an interesting or significant history, and poorboys, do, i do not feel bad saying froyo while i look down on the use of the term "poboy."

I used to do a lot of shopping at Walgreens. The Walgreens I lived next to doesn't sound as fancy as yours, but I used to get some pretty great deals on groceries. Best deal was 4 cases of 32 bottles of water for $10. I use the reward points and save a good bit once those pile up

Me, until now. I don't recall ever hearing anyone say froyo aloud though.
