Tottenham Hotspur 2014-15 Season Long Thread | "Undefeated in New Kits" Edition
Posted by GeauxColonels on 7/10/14 at 11:51 am51
New manager.
New year.
Better results?
It's starting off well with Hugo Lloris signing a 5-year extension today with the club.
Who do you guys think we snag in the transfer market? Who's gone?

"The arrival of Mauricio Pochettino is important," Lloris told the club's website. "I have a good feeling with him. He is also ambitious.

Will any of you hate me if I pull against Tottenham in their next match but pull for them in every match the rest of the season?

hoping for Ben Davies and that Poch can get the play out of Lamela and Soldado we were expecting.

I haven't really paid attention to the transfer market with the WC going on. What are the rumors?

Is that the match vs Sounders?

1. We're interested in Ben Davies of Swansea, that's been a rumor for a while
2. Saw a rumor yesterday that we're still interested in Origi (striker from Belgium)
3. Also saw a rumor that Mauricio wants Julian Draxler from Schalke....I don't believe he would leave for Spurs though...just my thoughts.

Origi is very overrated to me.
He had 6 goals in 40 games for Lille. Hardly impressive.
Lukaku is the much better player, and I think Origi, also being black and playing for Belgium, rides his coat tails.

He definitely still has a long way to go, but I like his potential as long as he can get more games.

I'm trying to be optimistic about this team this year. I am a little worried that Pochettino relies too much on the counter attack. Southampton had no come from behind wins last year and the struggled when teams didn't run at them. That sounds like some of the problems we had last year.
Lamela might as well be a new signing. I think he's going to be awesome for us this year. I also hope Capoue gets a fair shake this year. I think he is very talented.

Lukaku led the Belgian league in scoring at 16.
I do agree that Origi might be a wider player. More of a winger than a striker. But with Lamela, Chadli, Townsend, and Lennon on the roster, I don't know how much we need that.

Aren't we putting in an offer for Julian Green? I read €5million a couple weeks backs

There was a Julian Green rumor, but I didn't put much weight behind it.
I saw a brief note that Lukaku would be opposed to a move to Spurs because he wants Champions League football.
Again, all of this should be taken with a grain of salt.

The moves that everyone talks about are rarely the ones that go through.
Like I said, Mauricio likes Lamela, which basically means we have a huge new signing no matter what happens.
