Nothing much on TV - started watching john Adams series - not bad. The tar and feathers portion was tough to watch. I googled tar and feathers and learned that actual tar that we are familiar with wasn't used but a similar pine tar.

It's outstanding... my favorite of all HBO series because I am intensely interested in the birth of this country and its founding documents.

Paul Giamatti is great, of course, as is Stephen Dillane (aka Stannis Baratheon) as Thomas Jefferson.

My favorite scene is when John Adams meets the beaten King George III in London after the colonies gained their independence. How awkward that must have really been!

That scene where he meets the defeated king is amazing.

That is nothing compared to the POX fun to come.

I really like the first two episodes but it trails off after that.

Not bad, but just not a tight as the first couple.

Yeah I loved the series but it seemed to fizzle out

I really admire HBO for producing this series. John Adams, for sure, is not the sexiest of American historical figures, but somebody in HBO management must have appreciated that the man does not get his deserved credit. There simply would not have been a United States of America without his powers of vision and persuasion.

He gave no fricks, it was impressive seeing him personified.

I tried to read the McCullough book and it was one of the few books that I just couldn't get through. That kind of put me off on trying the series.

It's going to be hard for me to rewatch the series knowing now that Stannis was TJ.

Started well then kinda dragged. I didn't like it as much as other HBO miniseries like The Corner and Band of Brothers.
