Is this going to be a premium channel, like ESPNU? Or will be it be on the basic channel package?

My guess is they put it in their Sports Package like the Longhorn Network is currently.

It's going to be like ESPNU. But I wouldn't call that a premium channel.

This is incorrect. It will be a national network channel like ESPNU

I called direct tv last week to get a new receiver (my old one was overheating).

They tried to sell me on a new contract and, in turn, an upgraded receiver.

I replied that I would not do a new contract until they had the SEC Network.

The rep did not know what the SEC Network was, and had to look it up.

Would not surprise me if Direct TV holds out past August 14th.

The only question left is will Uverse have it. I've had it with Cox and my service with Uverse has been very good (not customer service, of course, because they're all bad).

My assumption is it will be a part of their Sports Tier package.....so, yes it will be a premium channel.

Given the fact that DTV is about to be acquired by AT&T, and that DTV is giving free NFL Sunday ticket anyone who calls to ask about SECN, I don't think they plan on getting it. Just my opinion.
