Who's can't miss, are we after anyone in state? Who's likely to commit? Where do you think our class will finish up at? (We're currently 12th ish) how's out of state looking? What do we need most? (OL/WR/TE/LB?) ect. Thanks in advance!

I think we need to grab another LB or 2 for sure.

LSU currently sits 10th in 247 sports overall recruiting ratings for 2015.The class is now starting to round out a bit with only 12 slots left to fill. The obvious holes in the class left to fill are on the D-Line and at the LB spots. LSU currently has only 1 Front 7 commit, Isaiah Washington a 3 star DE from Edna Karr in New Orleans. The problem is though is trying to project who the targets are to help fill out the class on the front 7.

Daylon Mack- 5* DT - TAMU commit, talked about taking an official to Baton Rouge but seems solid on his commitment.

Terry Beckner Jr. 5* DE - A few people were hoping he would see the potential here at LSU, but he seems to show minimal interest with no visit to LSU yet. Missouri's to Lose IMO.

Austin Bryant 4* DE - We were pushing for him but looks to be a Clemson lean.

Jalen Bates 3* DE- A underrated prospect IMO. No LSU offer but that could change with the July Camp coming up. Until he receives a LSU offer I would consider him a MISS ST or TAMU lean.

Joe Anderson 3* DE- A sleeper prospect, doesn't really go to any camps but has major offers on the board from UF, MISS ST, OLE MISS, SOUTH CAROLINA. No LSU offer as of yet seems to be on the back burner as far as LSU recruiting goes but that all could change going forward.

John Washington 3* DT- No major offers on the table as of now but IMO will earn many in his senior season.

Bo Wallace 3* OLB - Major offers from all over the country but no LSU offer as of yet. As I said before that could change very soon, IMO he's underrated and will earn his 4* this season. OU, TEXAS, NOTRE DAME seem to be the front runners.

Arthur McGinnis 3* LB- Seems to be a heavy TAMU lean and with no LSU offer on the table seems like a minimal chance we will land him.

That about rounds out the targets we have on the front 7.

The Instate Prospect that are being recruited the heaviest and are on everyone’s “want” list.

Tyron Johnson 5* WR- #1 recruit from Louisiana, A great WR, LSU is recruiting him hard and it appears to be a 3 team race between Texas Tech and LSU with TAMU trying to get in the mix also. Many people believe he’s LSU’s to lose but he recently named Texas Tech as his leader.

Jerry Tillery 4* OT- A Notre Dame commit, with recent LSU visits it was seeming as a LSU flips may be possible but in a recent interview at the opening he stated he is more than solid in his Notre Dame commitment so we’ll have to see how it plays out this fall.

Daylon Charlot 4* WR- Alabama commit was talk of a flip when he received his LSU offer at the last camp, but that talk seems to have died down and he claims he is solid to the TIDE.

Kirk Merrit 4* ATH – IMO is a lock to receive his 5th star this fall, He just won the SPARQ national championship. Many people remain firm that he’ll end up in Baton Rouge but to me it’s a two team race between TAMU and ALABAMA. If he doesn’t end up in Baton Rouge he will be the biggest miss of the year.

Donte Jackson 4* DB- A track star in high school has elite speed. He recently stated it’s a 2 team race between UGA and LSU with UGA being his leader.

Justin Reid 3* DB- Former LSU safety Eric Reid’s little brother has stormed up on the recruiting trail as of late and had a great showing at the opening sparq testing. No LSU offer yet but expect him to go the July camp and leave with an offer.

Deshawn Raymond 3* CB – Considered a heavy LSU lean very good friends with Xavier Lewis recent LSU commit. Expect to land him but anything can happen.

Others to be Mentioned – Stanley Morgan WR, Oshea Dugas OT, Kendall Harrison S, Bry,Keithton Mouton TE, George Lea DT, Brandon Scott S,

Out of State
Tarvarus McFadden 5* CB- There was a lot of talk early about him going to LSU that has seemed to calmed down as of late with still no visit to Baton Rouge. Teaming McFadden with Kevin Toliver would be one of the best DB hauls for a class in recent history. Most are projecting him to stay in-state and sign with FSU.

Jamal Peters 4* S- Open commitment, has been crowned as one of the big “trolls” of the recruiting year, he seems to have an ever changing top 5-10. Will be hard to pull him out of Mississippi but who knows. Reminds me of the Hootie Jones ordeal last year, would love to have him on board but don’t see it happening.

Carlos Strickland 4*WR- Very tall lean Wr. Many projections for LSU but no visit to Baton Rouge yet so we’ll let this one play out.

Others to be Mentioned – Patrick Vahe G, Rasool Clemons DE, Tyler Higby OT, Matt Womack OT

May have missed some guys but that’s the big picture of what the class looks like. Front 7 is the big need but may not have the prospects to fill those needs and also need to mend the fence and keep are Boot boys in-state.

The OL is the main priority this year in recruiting. A couple of bigger names in state have yet to receive a LSU offer. Not sure what this means, but it could mean LSU feels confident about landing some huge OOS prospects. The Grimes OL hire seems to be a really good one for the Tigers from a fundamentals and recruiting stand point. CLM continues to build one of the finest staffs in CFB, he may have the very best one in 2014.

QB is very thin, one commit this yr from a project and a huge commitment for 2016. This is the area LSU needs the most luck on development and injuries for 2014.
DE could use a big time play maker and add some depth. RB seems to have already been addressed with some big time commitments. LB is also a concern, especially if Jones , Louis or Feist leave for the NFL.
But overall, LSU is in very good shape depth wise even with all the NFL departures these past 2 years.

LSU should finish in the Top 5 again. I'll go with 4th.
