And to add, people make mistakes. Tyrann's were glorified because of the spotlight.

I always root for people to learn and get better. I hope he continues that path and use his experiences to mentor others.

The season needs to hurry up and get here. I'm tired of waiting, I want to see what Fournette can really do!

I can't hate Mathieu. One of the coolest memories I have of him was seeing him at the airport in Ft Lauderdale 2 years ago. I was wearing my LSU hat and just gave him a head nod.

Small fricking world.

I was a huge critic when he messed up and may have cost us some games, but I am happy he is doing well.
I am happy he is supporting future Tigers and will be an inspiration for them to avoid the mistakes he made.

Well done # 7

I think having his son, really has mellowed him out a lot more than even getting his last chance on the field has. He seems to finally have realized how his actions effect everything in his life and he isn't invincible.

quote:

"I grew up with him," Mathieu said. "I know his dad real well. He could never play park ball, he was always bigger than everybody else. So the parents would always say he's too big, they would write letters to the state. He couldn't play football so he always had to play what we called all-star football. They travel the state and play football."

quote:

"I knew he was a grown man when I was in the 12th grade and he was in the 8th grade, he was always bigger than me and he (punched me in the chest) and it hurt a little bit. I didn't know if he was playing or serious because it hurt that bad. He has always been strong,"

quote:

"I think he's hungry. I think he has what I didn't have, he has a great support system already. They've always been a great support system for him. ?He believes in himself and the people around him believe in him. The thing is, he can't get down. I had great years at LSU, but every time I played Alabama I wasn't the same guy. So you're going to have bad games but you just can't down about it."

quote:

"I already told him," Mathieu said. "It's going to be a lot of hype, the girls. You're wearing the No. 7, they don't just let anybody wear No. 7. I told him to just stay balanced through it all, don't get too high or low. He's going to be all right."

the number doesnt mean anything. Look just go back and see how many names you recognize that wore that jersey. I guess youd get to Tyrann, Patrick, then thats about it.

Paul Rushing, harold chambliss, michael shultz, jimmy welker, adrian mayes. Yeap some real house hold names there.

All hose guys wore it between faulk and highsmith. Before trev, rondell mealey wore it for 4 years.
