Whats the normal price to get a cat fixed?

I had found a kitten and didn't plan on keeping it, but it was sick and I didn't want to bring it to the pound and them kill it, so I kept him.
Well a month later and I don't want him to start spraying like my other (now outside) cat. So I want to get him fixed early.
Southern Animal foundation charges $40 then $25 for shots and $20 for microchip.
I know AVS in Baton Rouge is around the same price.
What would I expect to pay if I went into a regular vet?
I ask because SAF won't have an opening until August 1st.

Cats are unfixable. They're assholes.

SPCA does it for free if you tell them you trapped it.

Depends on what kind of Cat - truck, earth mover, etc.
And what's broke - drive train, electronics, etc.
You're leaving a lot out.

I enjoy both as well. You have to earn the trust of a cat which I think turns a lot of people off to them. Everyone wants instant gratification these days.

I got my cat fixed at the BR spay and neuter clinic...all shots and fixing cost $90

You just gotta let the cat know who's boss, which isn't always the easiest thing to do. Cats are the thinking man's pet.

.22 bullets are cheap. Good luck just buying one though.

this...they are both awesome animals. I guess some people don't like how independent cats are.

I'll admit some cats suck.
This one I found in my garage. I didn't trap him at first as I thought maybe his mother was around.
He was like 5 weeks when I trapped him. Then I kept him in a dog kennel in the garage for two weeks, then two weeks in a crate inside. Now he has free roam of the house. Which pisses off the other cat who isn't allowed inside.
This kitten (the girls call him Maximus) is very friendly and learns quick. Also has never made a mistake as far as peeing or pooping outside his box.
His nuts are dropping though and they got to go.
