LDWF

quote:

Citing the growth of the feral hog population and the corresponding damage they create, the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission adopted a notice of intent last week that would establish permit regulations for aerial hog control.

quote:

Landowners, or groups of landowners, would have to contact LDWF and provide authorization to the permit holder to take hogs on their property. And the landowners could provide permission to the aviation companies to use ‘subagents’ like gunners or observers to directly participate in hog control activity.

Sounds like this would only work on specific areas without trees. I mean, you can go out and slay 200 in a pasture, but you can't even see the damn things in the woods.

Is there any viable way to stop them in places with lots of woody cover?

Well, becuase of how the atf was going to word the new trust law, yes, if you had a grandfathered trust with the new law implemented, you could techically get one.

Marsh, large ag fields are pretty much the only option. Ive flown over wooded areas before and you'll see pigs but to be able to actually line them up before they hit cover is impossible. Maybe right after deer season when the woods are open you"d have the best luck

To me, it seems like there's no method to their madness. They just frick up wherever they want with no reason to be there
