Authorities say a roller coaster accident has injured four people and left others stranded 20 feet in the air.
Los Angeles County fire Supervisor Michael Pittman says the Ninja ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain near Los Angeles hit a tree branch shortly before 6 p.m. Monday and stopped.
He says four people on the ride received minor injuries.
All the riders remained on the stalled coaster nearly an hour after the accident. Pittman says firefighters do have ladders available to rescue them if necessary.
The Ninja coaster can hold up to 28 riders. They’re suspended in cars beneath the track. The coaster whips them around between trees on a hilltop at up to 55 mph.

The lawn guy is already back across the border

That poor guy.
I wonder if they'd pass out from being upside down for so long. Doesn't it increase your blood pressure?

Yeah if they were upside down that would be a much bigger problem.

Oh sure their bellies are warm in the sun now, but soon it will be dark and then...the crows will come.

The Ninja was always broken at Six Flags ATL when I went.

This is why Turkey Creek should invest in a trip to Six flags with his future ex-wife.

Different rides from different manufacturers.

Was just my tidbit for the thread.

I would demand lifetime passes to all their parks with go to the front of every line pass. Of course with their equipment issues, a lifetime pass may only last a year or two.

I think i'd wait it out instead of climbing down from the car. Looks like a the braking system locked up on them.
Posted on 7/7/14 at 10:45 pm to CHEDBALLZ
No breaking system. The chassis on one of the cars is severely damaged.

I went to Six Flags Magic Mountain when Alabama played UCLA in the Rose Bowl in 2000. That wasn't long after they have opened Goliath which was one of the tallest and fastest roller coasters in the world. I remember even at that time how many awesome roller coasters Magic Mountain had at the time.

From reddit:

My sister is currently stuck on the Ninja roller coaster in Six Flags California after the front train derailed

Everyone is safely off, they've been told they will receive a full refund but I don't think they're getting front of the line passes for life or anything like that. It doesn't seem like there will be any major lawsuits but I guess that will be up to the individuals.

It seems most of the articles say it hit branch. Looks like a big arse "branch" to me.
