About a week old but didn't find it when I searched.
Messi is Impossible
Pretty awesome article using statistics of all players that shows just how great Messi has been since 2010.

cool stuff
messi is the man. on a slightly related note, Ronaldo has more assists than most give him credit for.

It's really in depth statistically in going through how Messi leads by usually eye-opening margins in every single metric (goals from distance, unassisted goals, winning dribbles, shot on goal% etc etc etc) for attacking players.
It's actually surprisingly impressive even for one who already watches Messi and thinks he's the obviously the best in the world.

It is long and really indepth with a lot of different metrics on what makes him great. Lots of stat comparisons vs Ronaldo.
The below is from the comments section of the article but it really seems to sum up Messi.
"I forget who said this but I always thought it encapsulated Ronaldo and Messi perfectly.
Ronaldo is what you would get if a bunch of scientists were asked to create the perfect footballer in a lab. He seemingly has every skill a human requires to exceed at the sport in size, build, strength, and speed. When he does something it seems like he is at the peak of what is humanly possible.
Messi is like an alien. He does things in a way that are inconceivable. His abilities exceed what you thought possible from a human and it is amazing that such a creature exists."
