"HOUSTON, July 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Goodrich Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: GDP) today announced the completion of its Beech Grove 94H-1 (66.7% WI) well in East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. The well has achieved a peak 24-hour production rate to date of approximately 740 barrels of oil equivalent ("BOE") per day, comprised of 672 barrels of oil and 412 Mcf of gas on a 19/64 inch choke. The Beech Grove 94H-1 well was drilled with an approximate 6,000 foot lateral, landed in the Company's lower target and was completed with 21 frac stages."

Nice to spread the love back to Louisiana after MS being awash with new finds. By my simpleton math, this BOE is 90% oil.

That's some good results (looks at acreage for sale in East Feliciana)

GDR will have 5 rigs drilling soon. It's only a matter of time before someone gets the AFE's down enough and everyone will jump on the TMS bandwagon.

Looks a little underwhelming for the cost. 672 BOPD for probably $14MM is pretty rough.

That's probably not what they were looking for.

600 is lower level base for still ring profitable according to Goodrich's previous presentations.

Lots of wells in completion faze at the moment. Should see lots more results coming and hopefully they will be 1000+. Lots of time spent waiting on frac crews

Thanks for the heads up. Do you know what the rig count is in EFP by chance?

Actually I don't think there are any TMS rigs in La at the moment. Only 2 permitted sites I think. Everything is very slow south of the border. Lots of Miss wells / units are near the line but operators are reluctant to drill La. Not sure if its the depth, infinitives offered by Miss, or trying to hold as much land by production as possible in Miss where leases are running out of time. Maybe a combination off all possibilities

Probably true, but about ten years ago, shale in general wasn't worth producing, but exploration went on. Now, with added technology and higher prices, shale is a goldmine.

At some point, every find is going to become worthwhile. Isn't that why exploration never stops and wells get capped until they're worth producing?

EDIT: I have no skin in this game, just thoughts from watching energy over the years.

Shale isn't exactly a goldmine, but it can work in selective places at high enough prices. We are advancing into harder to extract oil and gas from the easy conventional stuff, but the returns from unconventional plays still are nowhere near the conventional wells of years past. The issue for the TMS is that ECA and GDP are having a hard time getting a high enough level of production to justify what the wells cost. The last three well results seem to be sub par and probably aren't economic. The resource is known and substantial but will it work at $100 oil? So far the jury is still out.

shite, I have a friend with some land up that way, Hope he's getting paid something. No good for me, my land is well south of Clinton. Is there any activity in the southwest corner of E Feliciana, south of Clinton?

Anything south of Clinton will be over 14,000 feet deep. The Sw corner is 16,000' and the SE corner is 14,500 feet. There is a large section below Clinton that appears to have a thickness between 100-130' but its between 14 and 15,000 feet deep.

With latest results it doesnt look like anybody is going to want to drill that deep any time soon.

Thanks for that. With the less than enthusiastic findings of late, it may be a while before it is profitable to really get going here. Guess I'll go to work today.
