Mold in my Big Green Egg

Got an egg a year ago as a wedding present and have no complaints except one. If I don't use it for two weeks, mold starts to grow on the inside. I have it covered and also under my carport. Called goodwood and did some research and see this is a common thing. I found some solutions I'm gonna try, but seeing if anyone has first hand experience on removing it. Any help is appreciated

Light the grill and wait two minutes for it to all burn away?

The mold get all over my heat plate so I have to wash it Everytime as well as the grill itself. Only takes a few minutes, but would rather just have no mold. Most common practice I see doing is after I cook, I should get the egg really got for 10-15 minutes to burn off any excess food. Will try this next time I cook

Big Green Eggs produce the BEST mold I've ever seen. Nothing else in the fungi world can compare.

Kamado Joe makes better mold and does not require you to buy an eggsessory to make the mold.

why even look past lighting it and burning it off?

He needs to boil the egg for 10 minutes at a rolling boil.
I use my crawfish pot.

If mold can survive 700 degrees I say eat it.. It will make you stronger.

don't leave the plate setter/or pizza stone in it. They will absorb moisture and that may be causing the mold.

Try heating it up to about 375-400* and let it run like that about 4 hours with no food in it. That should dry out the moisture. Never had that problem with my Primo Jr. Oval or my steel Keg.
Is it on the walls or the grate?

yes, in my 420 tundra, I keep 6 sacks precooling and waiting for the egg when it gets through to store it.
or, I just use my $59 dollar brinkman, it's never molded.
