Let me start off by saying, I am not a fan of musicals. This started off as an off-Broadway musical, which was then made into a movie in 2001. It is now on Broadway, starring Neil Patrick Harris.

It is quirky, fun and the music is phenomenal. If you are brave enough, give the movie a try. It is sad and uplifting. Tranny implications and all.

The music is very "Rock Opera" (think Meatloaf). Lots of good rock. Give it a listen.

One track - Midnight Radio

ETA: My fav The Origin of Love

I'll agree with you. Others may talk shite about it. But I enjoyed the hell outta this movie when it came out. Have seen it multiple times. Great story, well developed characters, and fantastic music. Haven't seen it in years so I may have to rewatch.

Regarding the musical. . . My brother is in NY this week. He saw it last night and sent me a text saying NPH was amazingly talented. Based upon that NPH as Hedwig, I would highly suggest to anyone if you're making a trip to NY.

And I concur with your assessment. The entire soundtrack is great and the wit in the writing is superb.

hell i want to go to NYC just to see NPH do this role.

I love hedwig, and have watched the movie numerous times and seen the play 3x locally. Its great in person, a very different experience.

I got the car wash spot in one show as I requested it and tipped the person seating us.
