My BIL has a 17ft jon boat for sale that I'm thinking about buying. It is in excellent shape with a 25Merc and 40lb thrust troll motor on it.
Boat, motor and trailer I can get it from him for$2k. Electric start, steering column, Bimini top. is it worth it? The whole setup is a '95 model

I've got a PolarKraft but it's a 1997 21ft. bay boat. I think all PolarKrafts made now are aluminum, similar to a Lund.

My dad has an CC alum 18' PK with a 2 stroke 90hp merc. it's a 2004 model. It's taken a beating and has held up great. He have never had a problem, just like an alum boat should be

Boat should be fine but a 25 hp on a 17' boat? Seems like it would be grossly underpowered.

Kind of thinking the same thing but the plate said it's only rated for a 40hp maximum.

Of course, we had a 70hp Evinrude on a 14ft Alumaweld at one time. Lol

I had a 16-48 with a 2 stroke 40 horse Yamaha tiller steer. The boat would fly. It was a very solid boat. It was a '96 model if I remember correctly. I sold it 3 or 4 years ago for $3200, so $2k sounds like a good deal.
