Copied from outdoor board because there's not much activity over there:

What's the best brand of paint for kitchen cabinets? Looking for ease of use to get a nice finish and whether oil or latex is best? I have a decent amount of experience with painting around the house but wasn't sure on the cabinets. Thanks

High gloss paint is much more scrub-able than matte or satin finish. Oil is more durable than latex also.

It's all in the prep. Cabinets get all kinds stuff on them. Clean with TSP, sand, and clean some more. Go to Sherwin Williams and they will set you up with primer and the correct paint. I sprayed my dark ugly cabinets with primer & white paint from Sherwin Williams and it still looks great after 10 years.
