On thin ice...

IMO, he was our best pure cover guy at LSU including Peterson and Mathieu. I haven't many Cowboys games. So, What is your opinion about his performance at Dallas? I know he has been injured and he played under a new DC last season. I'm not sure if the injury and new DC are the reasons for his setback.

Jerry Jones made another stupid hire with Kiffin... that team was built to run a man to man, 3-4 system. They just paid Carr top $$$ and then drafted Mo in the 1st. And both were solid that year.

Then they hire Kiffin, switch to a Tampa 2 D. Those 2 CBs are man to man CBs, not zone CBs. And they are paying Carr top $$$ to play in a zone

Just my opinion. They only play zone with him and he isn't suited for it. In fact the way the cowboys are built is not suitable to run the Tampa 2 or any cover packages, we don't have the safeties who can cover. Also I think it is important to note that they had to defend much long than most in the secondary as we had no pass rush.

I feel as though the new DC will be able to address some of these issues.

I do think he would be slightly better with a better team, but if you take off the purple and gold sunglasses, dude just hasn't been good.

even in man to man coverage, he hasn't been sharp.

corners are made by their DL, and the cowboys don't have a good one. LSU had one of the best in history

he might turn it around but don't expect him to go to another team and become a hall of famer

I wouldn't call it a setback. He hasn't played well yet

Well he had a 108 Rating against him in the man to man scheme as a rookie

Yes, but he at least looked promising as a rookie. More so than majority of the other rookie CBs that year. He looked like he could grow into a fine NFL CB.

He hasnt had a fair shake for sure here in Dallas. Injuries and the defensive coaching fiasco over here has definatly contributed to his lack of early success. But he hasnt done anything to have people be excited for him, either.
Dallas changing their defense one year after moving up and taking Claiborne is just another example of what the Cowboys are really up to. Marinelli will put him in better position to make plays. At least, Marinelli can stay awake in meetings, so that has to be better for Mo.

Talk radio around here mentions durability (does he have an NFL body)and the bust word has crept in a few times. But most, including me, think its too early to tell and are waiting on this upcoming year to decide. Staying injury free is a must for him.

I'm disappointed, of course. I think this is the put up or GTFO year. Keeping the faith!

I think he came in a little overrated, I was a fan of Mo in college but never for a minute thought he was a better corner than Peterson. The only thing I thought he did better was going up for balls. Peterson was bigger faster and stronger than Mo, not to mention Mo only scored a 4 on the wonderlic!

No one ever said Mo was better than Peterson

Your opinion is very flawed. This guy wasn't in Peterson's class, and never will be, even in a million years. Amazing that one of the greatest football players in LSU history, and one of the best defensive backs in all of history, went through LSU, and guys like you don't even realize it!

Mo was a very good CB. He certainly merited a high second round pick. The Cowboys showed what a shitty franchise they are when they drafted him in the top half of the first round. Mo benefited by playing behind a terrific front four that shut down the rush then rushed the passer.

I've always thought that Mo, while a really good cb, benefitted by playing opposite of Peterson his sophomore year and having Mathieu out there wrecking shite his jr ( TM7's soph) year

This is a simple answer, but if mo was healthy he'd be fine. Dude can hardly stay on the field. This is, in my opinion, the bigger deal.

He's stuck in a bad position (cover 2), but he also didn't make a good impact as a rookie. I see Dallas moving on from him this year. From what I remember of his rookie year, he had issues with the technical aspects of playing the position, and would be caught flat footed on the break waaaay to often.

Dude just hasn't produced and would probably be better in a different system... No fault of his several players end up producing on their second team

Mo was a consensus Top 10 pick out of college. They even traded up to get him because he was very sought after

I don't care how successful he's been so far, you can't sit there and say he was a 2nd round talent. He was a shutdown corner in college with all the measurables you want in a corner
