Especially if the couple is young (30s)? I guess some older couples stay together for the kids even if they aren't compatible and may divorce if they're empty nesters. We just had a couple friend send out a blast email announcing their divorce. They had been together since Rush.

Considering women are initiating the majority of them, I would guess that women no longer feel a need to stay in a marriage like they once did. Now, they have options.

I mean why would they? The system is setup in their favor already.

I've heard most divorces are caused by financial issues.

This could be dated though since there are now so many reasons why people might get divorced; Facebook, kids/no kids, etc

Yes.
Especially with the advent of websites like Facebook and AshleyMadison.

Money remains, far and away, the primary cause of divorce.

I think there are a lot of factors driving this proliferation, the most significant being the gains females have made in the labor force and the economic realities those gains have created.

Sixty percent of college degrees are issued to women, and they are the primary target of corporate America in the surge to acquire new talent.

Mix that up with our backwards, nineteen fifties perception of reality in the courts, and it's a recipe for walk-always.

A marriage is long over by the time infidelity happens. Divorce is just a business transaction at that point.

AshleyMadison
Learn something new every day, had to go look that one up.

Too many people take the easy way out, a good marriage takes a lot of work but in the end it's worth it if you've picked the right partner.
