You are trying to get elected for office for a national seat. What issue would you use to get elected?

I think for me it would be economic prosperity for my area as the main and then attempt to tie security into it, as there are tons of immigrants in the area.

For the typical politician, it depends on the makeup and demographics of the area they're running in.

If I'm running on my core principles, it's downsizing gov't, getting the debt under control and leading the charge for a balanced budget amendment while working hard for economic prosperity in a way that is no friend of crony capitalism.

basic left wing fundamental,, "somebody has what's rightfully yours, i will take it from them and give it to you".

If that's too complex for them to understand, just say "free sh(t",, even the morons understand what 'free obomaphone" means.

Term limits for Congress and Senate. I'd sign a legally binding pledge to term limit myself.

Very strong ethics laws on Congress (no more insider trading, free trips, gifts, etc.) and Congress cannot exempt themselves from any legislation they pass. (i.e. Obama Care).

Huge reduction in the size, scope and power of the federal government. Cut federal workforce and eliminate entire agencies.

Balanced Budget Amendment.

Scrap the current tax code and the fricking IRS. Go to either a flat tax or national sales tax.

Serious welfare reform. Get a fricking job or starve. Don't have kids you can't support.

Crack down on illegal immigration. Serious fines for employers who hire illegals. No more jobs and they go back to where they came from. Repeal the amendment that allows anchor babies.

The economy would take care of itself if all this was done.

-Executive order barring all immigration except those who are professional (doctors, engineers, architects, IT)

-Emphasize competition in k-12 education to make public schools once again "the great equalizer"

-Make health insurance markets more competitive

-Respected abroad, but restrained agressivism in foreign policy

The last 6-8 years of shite that has gone wrong.
The monetization of debt, the overall increase in debt, the ridiculous efforts to increase the amount of tax revenue (most of which have been fruitless), the large loss of jobs and income, the wishy-washy dink-and-dunk overly-diplomatic foreign policy embraced by the Obama administration which has led to an even less stable Middle East with more and more dying every day, the Obamacare bullshite that has the potential to bubble into the equivalent of the subprime disaster if not worse, the stupid cheap and sinister scandals internally in DC since 2010, and finally the phony propagandized and divisive series of "War on ____."

Rebuild the Infrastructure and end the corporate welfare (subsidies and special tax breaks). Business and enterprise will be much better off.

Absolutely first thing would be to secure the border at all cost. Absolutely no one comes across the border illegally unchecked. Not much we can do in the short term about the illegals already here. If a employer is found guilty of hiring and working illegals they get a mandatory jail sentence. Fix the border then work on the others.

Term limits for everyone possibly even the supreme court.

Tear down and rebuild all forms of public assistance. Unless prevented because of extreme physical limitations all receiving will be required to perform some type of work. Even if its picking up garbage on the Hwy.

Junk the IRS and start from scratch. Go to a flat tax everyone pays their fair share ( heard that term before hahaha ) I don't care if your a CEO who earns 100 million a year or a ditch digger making 8 dollars a hour. Everyone pays the same percentage of their income. This is the only truly fair way to do it.

National voter ID, everyone will be provided a free ID if they are a registered voter. Abolish absentee voting in its current form because its rampant with fraud.

Stop all aid to hostile foreign organizations and governments. Bring our boys home from all hostile locations. You don't want us there that's fine deal with your own problems.

it would probably be abortion but we all know that won't win you an election by itself.

I probably try to run on the idea of subsidiarity. Which would pretty much mean let's reduce the power of the federal government and increase the power of the local and state governments.

Health Care state issue
Marriage state issue (I rather have no civil marriage actually, leave it to religious groups to marry the state doesn't need to be involved in that.)
Emissions and such state issue
workers rights state issue
minimum wage state issue

etc.
