What better way to start a wonderful national holiday than with a nice spicy bloody mary? This was started about 9:30 this morning. I seem to do better cooking(not really ;D)while enjoying a cocktail or wine or beer or ............... ;D ;D.

Let the fireworks begin!

Yeah that's a quart jar! It's easier to mix the drink and add ice and vodka , shake it up and ready for more action.

Second recent Bloody Mary post that has suggested interesting mixes that I have not seen at my local MegaMart. Where are y'all finding these?

(Making do with a Tanq and Tonic while cutting the yard. First World Problems).

With that size, I'd need a designated driver.

Oh I have one. Thank you Ms. MD (MHNBPF).

Looks tasty.

Alrighty now, here's the rest of that spicy 4th of July story.

Thursday evening I brined about three dozen chicken wings overninght. The brine consisted of water(of course), sugar, my Cajun seasoning, apple vinegar, and I wanted to add a citrus element and a beer so........

Yesterday morning I removed them from the brine and let them air dry in the fridge and then seasoned them with Paul Prudhomme's Poultry seasoning.

After seasoning I coated them with my secret grill batter.

Time to put them on the Keg!

With the Keg loaded with chicken wings I made up a bunch of ABTs from peppers fresh from the garden and put those on the Traeger.

I thought I had taken a picture of the ABTs when they were done but maybe I didn't I did get one of the chicken though. Nice and crisp! Here they are piled up on the grill.

These were some of the best wings grilled yet! Some ate them just like they were and some were tossed with a lil BBQ sauce. Delicious either way.

I've never tried to batter wings and grill them... interesting. Might have to try that out sometime.
