Noticed that even though Die Hard takes place on Christmas Eve, somehow Notre Dame and USC are playing football that evening.

Beginning of Die Hard 2, and an old lady has a stungun that she demos while on the flight. Was this ever legal?

Notre Dame and USC play during the regular season. What is the likelihood they would play on a Christmas Eve bowl game in the '80s? This isn't USL football.

In 1988, USC and Notre Dame played on November 26. USC lost 27-10. USC was #2 and ND was #1

Die Hard is one of those movies that should just never be questioned.

Google is a hell of a tool. Not sure how we survived before it came to existence

Yeah, I guess you're right.

Signed,

LSU's 1997 football season

Anything for someone to be contrary. Jesus Christ. ND and USC were not playing in a Christmas Eve bowl game in the '80s. The only bowl game that day would have been the Sun Bowl, which isn't played at night. Die Hard took place after sundown.

Signed,

A time when there were only 17 bowl games

I'm not the one lamenting the lack of reality in a fictional action movie. I bet if you look real hard, you'll even see blanks being fired instead of real bullets. It's an outrage, I know.

He's barefoot the whole movie and takes out a masterful terrorist organization with the help of a fat cop and a limo driver. He fricking hangs from a gun strap that is already broken. You choose a football game to be upset about?

But the game in question was either the '86 or '87 Notre Dame-USC game as the film was released before the 1988 football season.

the football game is low on the WTF scale.

in DH2 why the hell couldn't the planes fly to any of the other airports in the region?

its not like the were in the middle of nowhere.

this was at Dulles International in DC.

Always bugged me too. They could've made it to dozens of other airports.

The OP should read "are the best action movies ever"

Nothing else.

Why couldn't someone from the tower go to a pay phone and call the FAA so they could radio the planes to tell them to fly to another airport? Why would a plane that was empty on fuel explode in a giant fireball?

While we're complaining about sports in Die Hard: I know the Lakers were the '87 and '88 champs and at the height of the Showtime era, but Christmas is about 25 games into the season. Save some of that energy, computer guy. There is still a long way to go.
