A buddy and I are looking to split a 1 ton sack of corn. Where is the cheapest place to get this? Also what is the best way to store it? Garbage cans in a shed?

I'm in the Livingston French Settlement area, but will drive to get it. A buddy and me plan on splitting the gas price 50/50.

If you know anyone that farms just go to the field when they start cutting corn and get them to off load in super sack. This is what I do cost me about $250

Do they have them right now or just around hunting season? I know a place on 190 that sells them for $270ish, but it's only during hunting season.

If you buy out of the field it will not be dried, and will mold and get stuck if you put in a mechanical feeder....want to know how I know this

PITA to clean out

I have 3 gravity feeders and 1 spin, but hopefully I can find it dried.

What's the logic behind this? If you get a $270 bag super sack vs. buying fresh 50 lb. sacks from your local feed store at $8.95/50lb. you only save about $45 bucks each, but have to travel to get it and have the pain of storing it. I don't think you fully appreciate what it takes to scoop out 1000 pounds of grain and store it in your garage.

But, if it makes you feel more farmerish, have at it.

Most of the local feed stores are 9.50-10.25 a bag. Theres a place near our camp that is 8.95 a bag, but rarely do they have large amounts in stock.

I was also hoping to find the super sack a little cheaper than the local place that charges $270.

Why not call the closest feed store to where you will be hunting and ask how much it would be for them to deliver a pallet to you?

I would check with Zenoh Grain.
See how much they're selling for.

We buy it by the pallet, but there isn't a price break from the per-bag cost...which is what the OP is looking for I believe
