Ladies and Gentlemen:

On behalf of the Greater New Orleans Expressway Commission, we wish you a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July. On the safety end, we’d like your help.

This morning, we had four accidents on the Causeway. The common denominator appears to be inattentiveness and following too closely. Please remember whenever you drive onto the Causeway and feel and hear the “clump” passing over expansion joints, to immediately refocus your thinking to driving safely across the Bridge.

It’s all about personal responsibility. Please help us make all your commutes across the Causeway safe and timely.

Carlton

And almost 5...

Watched a woman nearly rear end a stalled vehicle at 65mph. She then proceeded to nearly take out the driver behind and next to her when she violently swerved into the left lane at the lat second.

Frick... you could see the stalled vehicle from 800 yards away.

Fatty female driver too.

I passed that stalled dude and knew he was gonna get tagged by someone... was hoping he'd get out f the vehicle and walk back a few yards on the side of the bridge like you should.

Don't distract my old lady while she's enjoying her McMuffin. I'll have to hear about it later.

I have no idea how people commute over the Causeway every day for work...I'd suck it up and pay the extra money to live in Orleans or Jefferson parish.

Primarily caused by the crowd that can't read the "Left Lane for Passing, Keep Right" signs.

My initial reaction to the title was "No, there was only 1 wreck with 4 different threads on the OT discussing it".

I am currently considering take a job offer across the lake. The Causeway is the only thing that has kept me from jumping on it to this point.

Then why did a lot of Chalmatians move to St. Tammany after Katrina (many moved to Slidell but a lot moved to "Mandemadisoncovington" too)? The homes on the Northshore were a lot cheaper for them to afford than in Metairie, Lakeview, or Uptown. And a lot of these Northshore types who live in gated communities send their kids to St. Pauls and St. Scholastica...may as well live on the Southshore and send your kids to Jesuit, Brother Martin, Mount Carmel, or Dominican. Or live in Orleans Parish and send your kids to Lusher or Ben Franklin if they can get in/are smart.

they didn't want to lose their entire house to storm surge again.

So their tats would stand out more.
