Question following these hypothetical
-Sign a lease Jan. 1 2014 for 1 year.
-Nowhere in the lease does it say you have to provide written notice at the end of the lease of you not re-signing the lease.
My question.. Do you have to provide written notice telling the landlord you will not sign for another year before a certain period?
LAW- I can't understand

No. The landlord will contact you at their dissection about signing new lease probably 2-4 weeks before the end of current lease. You tell them no thank you. They advertise for new tenant. Easy as pie.

It doesn't sound like you would have to. The only thing would be some have a clause that say if you don't give notice then it goes to month to month. To be safe I'd give them 30 days. It would protect you and help out the landlord.

Then no, you do not have to. However, to avoid any problems, its best to provide written notice at minimum 30 days

Thanks
FWIW I moved July 1 and found out we wouldn't resign June 3 and I told my landlord (27 days). She tried pulling some BS about how I couldn't do that because I needed to give her 30 days notice and I was just confirming what I said.

Good pamphlet.
The lease will convert to month-to-month if you stay a week after the one-year term. After that, either party can terminate by giving written notice of termination ten calendar days before the end of the month they want to end it.
