Is anything more overrated than 4th of July Fireworks?

Setting off your own fireworks and firecrackers is one thing, I enjoy that
But going out somewhere at night in the humidity and bugs to watch fireworks is overrated and boring. It's the same shite every year. Nothing changes. shite exploding in the sky the same way it did last year, the year before, and the year before that.
Maybe the fact I worked for the Rangers and another minor league baseball team in the past where they shot off fireworks every fricking Friday night desensitized me to it, but I still think its an overrated tradition.

I hate fireworks. I do like to watch the people around me stare into the sky and ooh and aah like it's magic. It's a good time to watch people get excited like a child over some colors.

I'd have to agree with you. Do it yourself fireworks are cool. But going somewhere is a waste of time.
Unless you're at a baseball game or something similar already and they are doing fireworks after. I would never go somewhere to just watch fireworks.
