Drunk and stupid huh?
I think you're twisting this around to try mean something else.
I just said that criticism LM gets he brings on himself... Like losing to a shite ole miss team.
Has nothing to do with going undefeated.

Funny part about this is I don't even dislike LM, I don't love the guy like some here do, I've just accepted fact that chances are we gonna lose game or two per year we should t.
It's a fact.

Quit trying so hard brah.

We routinley lampoon and belittle other coaches here. And I can garauntee if Les was at another SEC school doing exactly what he's doing here, he'd be getting exactly the same treatment by media/fans and us because he just doesn't come off well perception-wise due to his issues with the spoken work and his often awkward presentation.

But as fans we often take things personally. I kinda separate team from coach and am able to still love my team without exactly thinking my coach is infallable. Some have trouble with that separation and they may think perceived disrespect for coach is of team and of them.

You couldnt be more wrong concerning me, and your weak attempt at psychology is comical. Miles is real and as tough minded as they come. Ever seen this guy sweat?

He's good and whenever an ignorant list comes out ranking him 17th and then hear our own fans agree is a bit much for some of us. That's completely it, theres nothing else here. No need for psycho-analysis.

Lets dont let a little thing like facts and Miles' resume impede your own thinking. Open your mind and look around a little.

PS
Did USCe lose to Tennessee last year? Just the East Championship at stake.

Ummm. So you think we should win about 13 games a year. That's pretty much what the guy said.

Some fans are worried about recruiting in that if Nick Saban is held in higher esteem and even Mark Dantonio this will hurt LSU recruiting.

And there is the Southern thing about a bloated sense of personal honor. If your coach is not rated as high as you think he should be it is an affront to your sense of honor.

Its the same both ways. Arguments against Les are that no one would hire him, he's a laughing stock to the media, so he must be a bad coach. So the people that don't like him back up their arguments with what other people think.

I care because lots of things change, the one constant is Les. He's the face of the program.

You and I both know it isn't. The sidewalk fans' lack of appreciation for a coach that has given our program this much staying power and prominence is what's laughable, and it's a legitimate threat to instate recruiting. You're like the hipsters of LSU football, thinking it's cool to remind people you watched when Saban was coach and how things were so much better when he had a worse winning percentage. It's pathetic.

Dude, I'm defending miles.

Who cares what people think of Miles? Love him or hate him all he does is win, when all said and done, he will go down as one of the best coaches LSU has EVER had! He does it year in and year out despite the circumstances in the toughest conference. Les has all the pieces in place with coaches and players, and I look forward to watching some really good football for the next few years.

Michigan and Arky. Arky offered him more than he gets here. Everyone else knows he isn't going anywhere

What if he took the Arky job? Imagine for a second. Going into that game with the Hogs, would you be feeling nervous about being out coached? Les is good because Louisiana is fertile enough to compete with anybody. Would Les be able to lift another school to elite status? Yea I know LSU has been down but look at the coaches that were here? What have they gone on to accomplish after they left LSU? Archer, Hallman, Dinardo. They were not "good" head coaches at D1 level competing in the SEC. Miles is a "good" coach and LSU is good. Cholly Mac was a good coach and LSU was good. The point is, there are other coaches who are better than good... maybe great if given the opportunity. I like Les but accept the fact that he is just a good coach. I personally feel LSU could do better.

I just don't buy this statement, talent doesn't win games if you dont believe me just ask Florida, USC, Texas, Michigan and I can keep going. It takes development and coaching to win college football games not talent! What makes a coach a great coach in your eyes?

What better coach is currently on the market now that you would take over Miles?

A truly good coaching job is a combination of several things. Namely coaching ability, recruiting ability, and right environment at the school.

Les has that combination here. Saban had that combination here. Did Saban take Michigan St to elite status? Nope. All the ingredients weren't there. It's not so simple as just being a good coach.

Who?

And this bullshite about Louisiana is false. Miles was the head coach during the worst cycles in 2 decades. Florida had quadroople the amount of draftees as Louisiana. These big states have enough talent to field multiple teams. What about ga? They have 2 d1 programs, Louisiana has 5. There are not enough top level recruits in LA to even compete in the sec west unless you go out of state.

Just since Les has been here, not enough elite qbs, no elite linebackers, and rt now, I haven't seen any elite dts. How can you win championships with that?

The debate stays alive because Les is so interesting.
He cultivates his reputation for being unpredictable and eccentric.
He consistently wins.
He's a great recruiter.
He's a man of integrity and a player's coach.
And he's plausibly depictable as a buffoon on the sidelines on game day.
Some cannot get past that last point, no matter what the record, because they so narrowly define what a head coac does.

He's not taking the Arky job. But if he takes the Michigan job and takes his coaches with him.......

I don't know of we could do better now.
There's two I'd have taken over him when he was hired.
Saban and spurrier.

That was a while ago.

Always somebody else up and coming and that's what LSU should be looking at this point Frwd.

The whole problem is people say we are fine with being second best. Well were aren't getting saban so we aren't getting the best coach regardless of what people think of miles, so I'm happy we have a guy that has done a great job and has showed loyalty to this program. And now we are talking about coaches that we don't know about yet, well how about we keep the one that's been the best? Miles will ride his contract and you know what? In 3-5 years we may find that up and coming coach that can continue what Miles has. But its just silly to say, blow the whole thing up. I can guarantee you, chavis and cam are gone, and unless the head coach is Wilson, he's gone to. You forget these guys genuinely love each other and love Miles. We are so close to another. I'm not ready to take a step back a few years just to see if the next guy can eventually do better. Not with the talent Miles has rt now. We are recruiting at an unprecedented clip as far as LSU is concerned and these past 2 cycles really have a chance to get us over the hump.
