There are state excise taxes on fuel too 
Gasoline, Gasohol, and Clear Diesel all cost 20.125 cents a gallon in state excise taxes and inspection fees.
It's my favorite tax though.

there you go. That used to be the difference between off-road diesel and road use diesel and now they are typically about 20 cents apart.

Creating more money to pay off government debts causes inflation, reducing our purchasing power. The sneakiest of all taxes IMO.

Land lines. Last time I checked it was around 15$ a month. I asked what it was for an they said cellphones for poor people. Canceled my line. Cheapest land line was around 30$, they said they only got half of it.
