Aesop Rock isn't even the best white rapper. Do you even Beastie Boys, bro?

For sure. Labor days, bazooka tooth and none shall pass were all on point. I also give a lot of credit to blockhead.

When Aesop moved out west he left blockhead behind and I won't say that his stuff is better or worse, but it's surely different.

The downfall of def jux hurt him just as much imo. He had a built in fan base that kind of dissapated after el-p closed shop.

His newest album is some of the best stuff he's done. He's definitely one of my favorites.

Hes had his moments, but he mostly sounds like he's got marbles in his mouth when he raps.

Not GOAT..

Agreed. Skelethon is one of my top 3 hip-hop albums of all time.

Bazooka Tooth definitely signified a turning point in his sound, but I think it was more symptomatic of hip-hop as a whole. Back in the late 90s & early 2000s, the sounds were a lot more simplistic. It was a baseline, a beat, a stringed-riff, and the lyrics. Then, as electronic music evolved, so did hip-hop's beats. El-P's Cancer 4 Cure epitomizes incredibly dope electronic music over equally dope lyrics (esp. "Tougher Colder Killer"; that track is almost unfair).

Aesop is definitely the GOAT. Any of y'all recognize my sig quote??
