Did anyone else notice at the top of the broadcast that the announcers said Belgian had travelled the least amount for their matches and the US at least one of the most, if not the most?

Now, Belgium was always going to have the talent advantage, but it still seems monumentally stupid on the USMNT organizers' part to chose a base so unbelievably far from their group matches. When you are at a disadvantage, why would you intentionally make it harder on yourself?

So, please chose a bit more wisely next time, USMNT.

In Russia, base chooses you.

The US team's camp was at São Paulo FC, who has by far the best facilities in Brazil. It was the most sought after camp in the country. The US Federation knew exactly what they were doing.

But, looking at the venues and locations Moscow appears to be a good location to stay in.

At the rate US and Russian relations are going, I could see us not participating in 2018.

Atleast Russia isn't building stadiums in Siberia. Seems like if you have to play in St. Petersburg and Sochi that might be a bit of a trip.

Belgium really hasn't had that much of a talent advantage on us till like 5 years ago (and obviously any time before 1990). They happen to be experiencing what they call a "golden generation" and we had the misfortune to run into it and had great chances to win.

That might be my favorite exchange of posts (however brief) in TD history.

Yeah the US essentially choose to travelso much because of wanting the Sao Paulo base when none of their games were close by
