...in the Financial Industry. I am sure I'll be getting some hate for posting on TD but here goes something..

I am currently a student at LSU entering my senior year. While I hold a major in Business Admin and minor in marketing, I only began taking interest in Finance courses toward the latter point of my sophomore.

Nearly all my electives have been Finance related since that point (investments, wealth management, coporate, etc). They say hind-sight is 20/20. Knowing what I know now, I would've majored in Finance if I could re-do my freshman year.

I am curious to see if anyone on the Money Board would know of anyone and/or any company that looks to hire students as a part time job during the school year (Banks/Investment Firms/etc). Any recommendations would be of great use.

Thanks in Advance!

No hate here brah (or sis) for this, good luck. Banks and CUs have extended hours now, if you are willing/able to work evenings and Saturdays go to the Main Office and try to get face-to-face with someone there who can either hire you or get you an interview with the person that can hire you. Tell them you will be a teller or runner or do whatever there or somewhere else for the institution, it'll get your foot in the door.

Don't take "no" as an answer. Tell them you'll keep coming back to see if anything opens up. Ask them if they don't have something for you, do they know of somewhere else that might have an opening for you.

Why do you have to go back to freshman year? I doubt it would take you more than an extra 15-30 hours to change your major now. All of your finance courses should count towards something and your other mgt/mkt classes should count as business electives. You might just have to take a few extra accounting and core finance classes. If you really want to have a finance degree, it shouldn't be that big of a change for you.

Is this possible at LSU? It used to not be. Just a few years ago, you could not receive a minor and a major both within the business college. Maybe they changed the rules though.

I would think LSU Career Services is your best bet. For the most part, if I company wants an intern or to employ a student part-time in a professional field, they are going to post it with LSU career services. You could do an independent search, but I wouldn't think it would be as productive as just looking on career services. Sorry its not much help.

Pizzas man. If you have a vehicle that gets decent gas you can average between 15-21 bucks and hour depending on the night you work

LSU business school places paid interns at several of the big firms here in BR. I know 8-10 just started at one place.
