Any indication of when L might be available for public release?

Isn't the L just the Developer's preview without a lot of the actual modules or whatever installed? Wouldn't that account for some of the longer battery life?

The test was screen on and repeated web page refreshes. Any battery drain due to other services running in the background would be negligible compared to that.
