I ran across this last night and it kinda bummed me out. I enjoyed his act and schtick.

It's the ultimate magic trick...he's going to die and then bring himself back to life. Although that's been done before by the worlds greatest magician

I forgot about this guy. I used to enjoy his work and even saw him live once back in the day. Hope he is doing better.

Sucks to hear. Didn't he run over Criss Angel in a car on purpose in one of Angel's tricks?

This was from a few weeks ago:

The Amazing Johnathan weds Anastasia Synn at A Special Memory Chapel in Las Vegas

quote:

Now because of diabetes and a heart imbalance, he’s retiring after six final shows this weekend at the Magic Castle in Hollywood. The shows are being videotaped for a future TV documentary.

A.J. told me that he didn’t feel well during the ceremony. “My heart is pumping at only 13 percent capacity. I really felt unwell. It’s not getting any better.”

His bride Anastasia added: “I had to hold him up a couple of times; otherwise, I know he would have just fallen down. I promised to look after him in sickness and in health, so this is my job for now — making sure he’s OK and that he gets better.”

Despite the groom’s health battle, he took his bride on the dance floor for the first dance, and over sushi and sake the newlyweds applauded a nearly two-hour nonstop lineup of wacky entertainment from balloon swallowers and puppeteers to magicians and clowns.

From the old Yelp Reviews of his show... Apparently he would put up the audience pictures on a big screen before the show with labels

quote:

Except, at the beginning, when he flashed my image on the big screen and labeled me a goat f*cker. That was unexpected and kinda funny.
