Ryno for Monroe sign and trade?

Looked at the first 3 pages and the FA thread and nothing?
This is a legit rumor that is gaining momentum. Obviously, Monroe would be bait for a SF...a good one at that.

Ryno is a much better fit after trading for Asik. Plus we don't have the space to sign Monroe unless they take both Anderson and Gordon.

Only way this make sense if it is a 3 team trade with us getting someone like Parsons, or Batum from Portland like suggested.

Oh, it's in there, but this probably does deserve it's own thread. While many including myself have been against all previous iterations of trading Ryno, trading Ryno in a 3 way that nets Batum is a lot more acceptable.

That remains to be seen. The only source of this is a Bucks beat writer. For all we know he's recycling the same rumor we heard last week and fansided bloggers are combining it with the rumor that Portland has looked into a S&T for Monroe.
The rumor also doesn't make much sense for Portland. I can see why they'd want Monroe more than Lopez, and I can see why SVG would want Ryno more than Batum because of their history, but why would Portland want Monroe more than Batum?

im surprised, when i posted same link yesterday i was told how it wasnt possible and that "anyone can make a post on fansided", well, looks like i was right as this being a real rumor.

It sounds like a win/win/win trade if you can figure out how to make Portland want Monroe more than Batum, like having another SF option lined up. Then the question for them could be
Batum and Lopez/Hawes vs. Monroe and say PJ Tucker.
That's a different comparison than Batum vs. Monroe.

i just dont see how they would want ryno over batum, unless we are adding something fairly significant or there is something up with batum that we dont know about.

The only person who thinks this is a real rumor is the OP. Nothing has changed since you posted it. It's still multiple rumors, some of which are possibly outdated, cobbled together into an enticing but no more credible composite rumor. Is it a plausible theory? Pretty close. Is it a credible rumor? No.

SVG's history with Ryno, maybe he's looking for leadership/attitude, plus in theory you can do the SF/PF offense/defense switch with Smith/Ryno that we hoped would work with Ryno/Aminu. Also, one thing a lot of people still don't seem to get about Ryno is that he CREATES about 7-8 3 pointers a game thanks to his height and quick release. That's not an exaggeration, the other Pelicans took the same amount of 3s with or without Ryno on the court, so every 3 he took was one that wasn't getting created by Monty's scheme otherwise. Batum will take 3s you create for him, but he won't create his own 3s. Trading Ryno for Batum is not a slam dunk, no brainer from our perspective. We'd be giving up something pretty significant to balance out a more traditional starting lineup

never thought about that, smith plays more like the PF, Ryno the SF, on O, but on D u flip that, makes sense, plus hes cheaper than the 10-13 mil (or whatever the max/near max) monroe will get
