Do we have scouts from the top academies in Europe over here scouting young players? I am talking La Masia level talent scouts.

If we don't what can we do to get them over here.

Messi was shipped off to Spain at 11, why can't our kids do that? I don't think there are any laws that prevent it, and Lord knows we pull kids out just as young to start them on gymnastics and figure skating (two sports we do fairly well in).

I am no soccer expert by any means, but I cannot imagine that having more of our young kids overseas training with the best could do anything but help our long term talent level, as I think that was what held us back today.

Yes

Players can't go to Europe for the sole purpose of soccer until they are 18. Their whole family could move to Europe and they could beforehand but that is difficult for most people.

The top clubs have scouts all over the world. All over the world.
