What flaw in another sport do you compare the joke that is stoppage time to?

Spare me the company line that this board loves to use.

In what world is it acceptable to mysteriously hide the clock that these officials are using? How do you justify this besides "tradition"?

I don't have a problem with it. They could make the time more transparent, but I like not having a set stopping point.

Why not? Can you admit that there are a million more positives to having a clock to show rather than not?

They have stoppage time in Rugby too. It's not that big a deal.

I have no problem with stoppage time. The lack of transparency is the issue. I've seen it be way too subjective in my years.

I should have made myself more clear. It's not stoppage time. I don't want the clock to be stopped. That's not my gripe. I want it to be shown in real time the extra time they are adding and to add on to it further into the match.

No, I can't. I like that the ref isn't going to blow the whistle if you're on a break or around the box with a chance to score.

Actually, it's on the 2, and the interference has to occur in the endzone.

Do I hate the SPOT FOUL for every PI in the NFL rule? absolutely. Should be a max penalty of 15 yards.

And I'd like it if the ref would allow both teams the earned time that is available to see BEFORE we go into stoppage time

In basketball, when down by 1 with 15 seconds left, it helps the losing team to foul. You should never be helped by fouling.

I don't like the advancement up court on a timeout in the NBA

Timeout advances the ball past half court in the NBA late in games.

Stupid clown rule to create late drama.

I don't think there needs to be a running clock. I do think there needs to be something to show calculation of the amount of stoppage time. Have a calculator that runs for injuries, adds time for goals, penalties, etc. let the ref keep the clock on the field, but something has evidently subjective as calculating stoppage time, that needs to be improved.

I appreciate you giving me civil input

Anyone but the ref, IMO. He shouldn't be in charge of added time.

Agreed, I just meant that the ref keeps the time. He is not in charge of calculating it. If the calculator says 4 minutes, then the ref keeps time for 4 minutes.

Because it's really not that complicated at all and not a big deal. Of all the reasons to dislike soccer, and there are plenty, this is by far the most ridiculous.
