My brother is getting married (let's try this again...) in October and I am trying to plan his bachelor party for the weekend of August 30, which also happens to be labor day weekend.

I am looking for something along the lines of a camp with lake or river access or even a camp with a small pond. We aren't looking to find any womenz, just somewhere to go fishing, cook a pig, drink some beer and watch the LSU game. My problem is that most camps for that weekend want a 2 night commitment or are located on a highly trafficked body of water.

Can the OB point me in the right direction of where I might be able to find something along the lines of what I'm looking for and hopefully within a couple hours of BR?

Thanks!

You need to check out the cabins at Chicot. Over the water with huge decks. Also plenty of room on bank side to cook pig.

honestly, if you are gonna do all of that, you probably need two nights in the place anyway...

That was my first thought, but those cabins are booked 6 months to a year ahead of time. Something like that would be ideal though.

The plan is to go fishing Saturday morning, cook the pig from Saturday noonish until right before kickoff, watch the game and get our drink on and spend the night wherever we watch the game. One night should suffice.

Thanks. I might take you up on that. I'll shoot you an e-mail shortly for more details at least.

None of us are golfers so this wouldn't be a selling point unfortunately.

Keep 'em coming OB! Thanks for the input so far.

Usually the fall months aren't as booked. You might luck up and find an opening.

No I actually already checked that before coming to the OB. The bigger cabins are all booked.
