Heading over to Academy and I'm turning to the experts instead of just winging it. I am starting basically from scratch. Have a few H & H spinners, some cocahoe minnow shads, and a few jig heads. I'll be kayak fishing everywhere from Shell Beach down to Grand Isle. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Anyone tried the Vudu Mullet yet?

Watched the video on Superior Tackle's Fb and it looks promising- if I were a fish, I'd eat it.

Stuff for Carolina rigs.

Leader Material
Egg Sinkers
Swivels
Circle Hooks

If you're bawlin' pick up some Vudu shrimp.

My current supply, I'll probably add more to it. I should note I have no idea WTF I'm doing so I just bought a bunch of stuff I've seen mentioned here before.

Various top waters(Top Dogs, She Dogs, Top Dog Jrs in a variety of colors)
Gold Spoons of a couple different size/weights
Jig heads in a variety of size/color
Various plastics, no Gulp yet though
VuDu Shrimps of various size/color
DOA shrimp of various size/color
LiveTarget Shrimps(So real looking I might fry them)
Variety of hooks, weights, swivels, leader material, popping corks

That's a chunk of change. I'd be eating butter sandwiches for supper if I made a haul like that.

It was all purchased in 2 or 3 phases to not seem like such a big purchase. When in the yak my tackle box is strapped securely as it may very well be the most expensive thing in my whole boat.

I was fishing one under a cork the Saturday morning and hooked into a good fish late in the morning that got off, which is codeword for I had tied a shitty knot. So I lost the fish and my bait. Never tied another one on after that. Before that I had a few other single hits on it but nothing would commit to it other than that one fish. I started to wonder if the fish that would short hit it got turned off by the plastic taste and never would come back for it.

I must say though they're probably the most realistic baits I've seen as far as appearance goes. Probably little to no action to them though when compared to a VuDu shrimp.

I took your advice, meaning if you posted something in here I bought it

Except for the Vudu shrimp unfortunately. I couldn't find them at the Academy in Covington, but I bought the H & H version of them instead.
