Is this standard for "soccer fans"?. It seems pretty disrespectful to wear the flag as an accessory. Not gonna lie, as a service member it bothers the hell out of me, am I alone or over reacting in this?

over reacting. if they are wearing as a symbol of pride then meh.

So if you weren't a service member it wouldn't affect you?
Or do you just want everyone to know you're a service member

I'm not one to tell someone how they should feel, but I'm pretty sure the cape wearer is showing pride in his own way. IMO.
This may be a generational issue.

I actually agree.. granted i dont like the flag shorts and t shirts and the rest that people wear either.
But then again I am glad they are supporting so i am not too mad.

I don't worship flags, so I don't see how it can be viewed as anything but pride. What about wearing a shirt with the flag imprinted on it? How is that any different?

Traditionally you were not supposed to wear the flag as clothing, as it was seen to be disrespectful to the flag.
But i think this has kind of been put in the backseat

It's a flag, likely made in China.
Not one frick should be given.

I tend to agree and wouldn't wear a flag.

That was my point. It's a generational thing.

I think it's safe to drape your colors on you in any fashion as long as your intent is respectful.

Covering your body in your country's colors should never be seen as offensive. Be proud!
