i know, :getsmarterfriends:

I'm sure you've seen this gem floating around. show me more, for shits and giggles.

OT: I took a total FB hiatus to get some SERENITY NOW! I can now handle this level of absurdity without so much as a blood-pressure spike or adrenaline reaction.

also helpful, i still have a permanent ban on any form of FB "debate" unless it involves sports.

i figure i'll be back off permanently within a year.

One person I know who should know better was ranting and raving about getting yarn and other craft supplies to crochet a tiny uterus and throw it at Hobby Lobby.

Would have been great if half these people would have been aborted or their fathers had pulled out and left a map of Hawaii on their mothers stomach

Yesterday, my wife asked me if Obamacare ever passed. I mumbled a response because I didn't feel like explaining how dense someone has to be to ask such a question.

This person is actually cool as shite about 90% of the time. Problem is that she's reflexively lefty.

Hit her on the knee and she starts spouting whatever War Against Women / Dem party line bullshite has been pushed that day.

She's still not as insufferable as one particular bitch I grew up with who loves to talk about how racist and homophobic everyone in the south is.

This is someone who grew up in a school where her brother was part of a massive group of gay people who all "came out" in my senior year or beyond and didn't get shite from anyone else over it outside of one particular girl being separated from her girlfriend on soccer trips because they couldn't stop making out. (Not a good thing either because both were butch.)

I just don't fricking understand their rationale... Hobby Lobby wasn't providing it previously and isn't going to provide it now. NOTHING has fricking changed.

Its not like the women can't walk to the clinic and get free condoms or even pay for their own BC which is cheap even if you don't have insurance. frick, even some of the pharm companies give discount cards for their pills.

People are frickING STUPID

They either don't know or don't care about what happened. They're just told that Hobby Lobby is teh evul and scream about it like trained monkeys.

Birth control is still legal. You can get it without a prescription at Wal-Mart for $10 the last time I checked. Hobby Lobby saying "pay for it your damn self" is NOT oppression / denial of birth control.

My favorite because it mashes so many misconceptions, falsehoods, and favorite liberal arguments into one picture.

Point of clarification: HL provides coverage of 16 of the 20 mandated contraceptives on the HHS list. Average cost to FT employees - $9/mo. prior to Obamacare.

I'm pretty liberal, but I get upset when most people don't even understand that "birth control" as we know it is still covered under Hobby Lobby's health plan.

This was about morning after pills and IUDs.

So the people posting that meme would swap the words on the first and third pictures, from one that can't protect themselves to one who can...got it.

the whole "viagra is covered by insurance" meme is so ridiculous, esp since i don't know what normal BC is NOT covered by insurance

They don't want to frame the argument to reflect reality because they'd lose that way.

They frame it as "OMG, birth control~!" to get sympathy on their side.

Admitting that only the morning-after pill and IUDs aren't covered undercuts their position.

And I'll admit, I didn't know the specifics... That is all Hobby Lobby was objecting to?

Also, Viagra "coverage" often means ~3 pills are covered per month at $10-$15 per pill.

Here's a slew, courtesy of DU:

On these, note the emphasis on MY and MINE. Well, what's stopping you from getting what you want? Also, are they current Hobby Lobby employees?

they really do frame the argument as if Hobby Lobby said that it would fire (or possibly murder) employees who used plan B

when that has NOTHING to do with the argument

this is about who PAYS for something
