How big was 2012 LSU-UF 14-6 for the future of our program?

Do you think this is the game that eventually landed us another OL coach and OC? I know we had Stud again this past season but we all knew he was on his way out.

That 2012 Florida defense was scary all across the board, but I'm sure we can all agree that unit should have atleast gotten into the endzone once or twice.

What 2012 could have been with a decent OC

Tyrann Mathieu getting kicked off was much, much bigger.

Eh, I can see how as TM7 getting kicked off brought a lot of "what ifs" (he definitely would've prevented Ole Miss and Clemson and Co. Making a shite show out of our DBs.) but we still had a unit with enough talent on the defensive side of the ball to go all the way, as did we on offense. Just one of these weren't being used and developed properly..

I guess you missed the part where the badger completely took over the game against Oregon, West Virginia, Arkansas, and UGA, who all were top 10 teams.

It was disgusting how overrated that Florida team was. He'd have either returned a punt for a touchdown or forced a game-changing turnover. that's being modest as he usually did both in every game, sometime twice for either

Well, he's had multiple heisman performances against teams much better than 2012 Florida.

An average game for TM7 was at least one big turnover

You give 2012 Fla credit, many don't. That 2012 team despite many Gators pulling a no-show vs Lville in Sugar, still only lost by 10 despite it being an absolute visual beatdown, otherwise only lost a 17-9 slugfest with UGA in regular season play. The Strong/Bridgewater with UF/Fla ties angle & smashing of a disinterested Gator team on an BCS stage greatly discredited an otherwise solid season/team.

Did you not think that after Brad Wing's taunt in LSU 2011 smashing on CBS, that LSU would not be their biggest circled game of the year, it was, and their holding LSU to 1-for-13 3rd downs suggest so too. Even so, it was a game there for the taking if LSU comes with some better execution.

Gators were very hungry and out for revenge that day.

A short answer would be not huge.

Florida always has a tough D.

We had them until Minter went out with leg cramps. Even with Stud at OC. Granted, it was closer than it should've been but we were still up before Minter went out.

But that's done and now we have Cameron.

I read somewhere that Florida was the second team to hold us below 50 rushing yards or so thing after Bama did in the Title.

To have that done to a program with recruiting ties and talent like LSU has in embarrassing and has to raise eyebrows.

True and I think it did. Stud was gone after that season.

But UF gets talent too. They're not garbage, even though they rank right under Bama for me in who I dislike.

No point in reliving that game.

The biggest wake up call to get a new OC was the Clemson game. Only 1 rushing yard in the 4th against a team blown out a year ago, and playcalling that made no sense was the reason Cam came in (passing when there is a stable of backs on short distance)

Our OL was in shambles for that game due to injuries. I think more than Studs being inadequate as an OC, this game highlighted how substandard he was as OL position coach. Our backup OL were not ready to play. And our OL recruiting hasn't been optimal.

Losing Cam Robinson, who pretty much said he chose Alabama because of the number of UA OL drafted compared to LSU, sealed the deal.

I appreciate the work Studs did when he was here, but it was time for him to go.

it was 6-0 LSU at half time. LSU should have won that game.

Sad that was a game we should have won. If Odell hangs on to that ball we at least get a FG and Florida doesn't gain momentum marching right down the field and scoring.

I would argue that Florida caught LSU and A&M at the right times. I feel like if they had played either by the end of the season they would have lost to both teams by more a wide margin.

I remember this game. Here is why we lost.

Offense couldnt make first downs
Defense had to stay on the field
Linebackers got hurt and we lost our depth
Florida started running sideline to sideline wearing out our LB's that were left
Defense ran out of gas
Florida walked in for TD
