Why do NBA teams hire and fire the same group of coaches?

Heard Dan Patrick discussing Byron Scott to the Lakers this morning and it got me thinking about how often coaches get fired and rehired by teams in the NBA.
You would think that only a select group of coaches are qualified considering Mike Brown, Larry Drew, and Byron Scott continuously come up in coaching discussions, yet NBA teams just threw $5 million per year at rookie coaches in Steve Kerr and Derek Fisher.
What the hell is going on?

10 of the last 14 hires the past 2 seasons were guys that had zero previous NBA head coaching experience.
Only 9 of the current 28 NBA head coaches (LA and Brooklyn don't have coaches) had previous NBA coaching experience.

You can say the same thing about the NFL, Major Leauge Baseball and the NHL. Shoot, the same is true for college sports. Once you are in the head coaching club, people will look at you for openings unless you were a complete disaster.

If you owned a restaurant and needed someone to manage it, who would you hire: a person who never managed a restaurant before or someone who managed a couple of restaurants?

I would give a new guy a chance before some of these other guys who have failed at their previous 3 jobs. Sometimes you will get lucky on a guy like tom thibodeau.

Lebatard talks about the recycling of the same coaches all the time.
It shows very little vision and leadership, and the Savior coach rarely works out are his go to lines.

The only teams lately that have done this are the Lakers, Knicks Cavs, pistons, and Clippers.

Are people just ignoring what I posted?
This isn't as big of a problem as y'all seem to think it is.

Huh? We're talking about guys who were were fired from managing their restaurants. Plus, I'm not advocating guys like Kerr and Fisher. I don't know why more assistants don't get opportunities.

It used to be a bigger issue in the NBA. The league is just getting smarter.

The fact that Mike Brown, Larry Drew, and Byron Scott, among others, continue to get opportunities is a problem, regardless of how widespread it is in the NBA.

Don't get me wrong there are still some dumb front offices out there right now, but as a whole things have gotten better.
I mean hell the Lakers just went through the draft without a coach and I think have like 3 players confirmed to be on their roster next season

There is a legitimate chance that Byron Scott will coach the Lakers next year after being fired from his last three coaching gigs. Think about that for a minute.
Granted, this is the same front office that is paying Kobe 40+ million over the next two years.

The NBA is a player-driven league.
NBA coaches are more management than tactics nowadays, so the regurgitation speaks to the importance (or lack thereof) of hiring a certain type of coach.
