Trying To Create a Budget for my last Year in College

...and I have a few questions for you guys:
1.) How much do you think the average college student spends on food per week?
(Minus Beer...Cause, after all, this is why I'm doing this in the first place--to figure out how much I can spend on beer)
2.) How much do you think I'll spend on gas?
I drive an 03 Sierra (gas gauge doesn't work) and I live on Brightside...Plan on taking the bus to campus everyday, though.
3.) How much should I plan on spending on car insurance?
I cut myself off the nipple last year in hopes of it'd give me a head start on real life. Dumb, I know.
I've interned my past 2 summers at Chevron, so I should be okay coming out (fingers crossed, hiring is a little slow now), just wondering how much I'll be struggling this year.
Appreciate you guys (and gals).

How much are you paying now? Shouldn't be that hard to figure out.

Do you eat at the dining halls? Do you have a meal plan? How disciplined are you eating wise?

I'm not familiar with campus so idk. Do you drive places on weekends?

Depends. Could be anywhere from like $50-$100 a month. Who knows. Depends on the company and your record.

1. budget about $80 per week for food and other living expenses. Make sure that you don't spend the excess and roll it over for when you need to spend more.
2. Budget $40 per week. You probably won't use that much but have it in the budget anyways.
3. This will be by far your largest expense, possibly more than your food, gas, housing, entertainment money (including hookers, top shelf booze, and blow), and tuition combined.
Prepare your anus for the car insurance. It's a real bitch.

Factoring in lulls during exams/summer with football season being the great equalizer I'd say if you're the average LSU senior looking to go out big, a minimum of $5,000 a semester should be allocated towards fun.

No Meal Plan. I eat pretty healthy. Try to run/bike 3 times a week.

Nowhere too far. BR area
No idea what I'm paying now for insurance. No wrecks or tickets on my record.

You're poor. We own fleets of Porches here on the OT

This.
As for the insurance? It depends on your record. If clean, about $100 a month.

It really just depends on what/where you eat. You should have a decent idea of what your typical week of eating entails and about how much that costs.
If you're taking the bus to class everyday, and just using your truck to do other shite around BR, you can probably plan for about $30-$40 per week even though you likely won't use that much. Really depends on what your mpg is too.
Can't really comment on the insurance stuff since I don't have much experience there

My parents gave me 100 a week spending money (gas bars eating out) they also gave me 100 walmart gift card a month for food.. They paid all my bills too though.. It was rough sometimes but it made me realize what was more important beer or toilet paper

probably close to 100?
without beer of course

2.) How much do you think I'll spend on gas?
you can probably fill up once a month if you are only driving around campus

If you have no accident history, with a 4x4 truck with only liability I'd say close to 12-1400 a year?

How many nights a week do you see yourself going out? On the conservative end.

Eat a lot of them Ramadan or whatever the frick it is noodles. Go to happy hours where they serve up them greasy little weenies and chips. You're young, you can handle the sodium surges.

This is your last year and you don't know how much these things cost? You're doing it wrong.

get a job as a bartender, takes care of a big chunk of the booze budget

Budget $20 a day for everything.

Totino's pizzas. $1.35 for a meal. Rest of money on beer.
Posted on 6/30/14 at 3:56 pm to RadBro
So you will go out roughly 100 nights a semester at around $50 a night. You will need at least 10 large to really party your entire senior year and that's on the conservative end.
