I just purchased a GMC with On Star. Is it worth it to keep it after the free trail. Any deals to be had?

I bought a chevy about 5 months ago and told them I didn't even want the free trial.

I can't see any reason for me ever using onstar unless I'm in a major wreck or something, in which case I'll just push the button anyway and pay for the charges.

I use the remote start feature of the iPhone app. You can also unlock your vehicle remotely.

Also, if you travel a lot, some areas have better wireless coverage with different companies. Onstar calls work on all carriers.

unless you are worried about your cell phone not working, I wouldn't pay for it. I had it for years, but let it lapse b/c I wasn't using it.

I like it. The truck phone works when I have no signal on my cell. The turn by turn directions come in handy.

If you don't have nav you need onstar to keep turn by turn directions. I like it for the remote start from anywhere capability. You can call and make deals with them.

Only thing I liked about it was never having to wonder if the car was locked, and being able to remote start. Still wasn't worth it though.

I have the Denali. So it comes standard with navigation and remote start. I guess if that's the two best features I won't have a need for it otherwise. I bought the 300 minutes for 10 dollars. But I see on their site the normal price is a whole lot more.

Yes it's worth it. Lowers your insurance rate for one. Plenty if benefits, do some research. Could save your life
