I need something to see this week, and I'm not interested in Transformers. Has anyone here seen Snowpiercer... How was it?

I was looking forward to it, but was let down. Kinda cheesy. Maybe my expectations were as high as I was watching this though.

Apparently it's not out in the theater where I'm at. Disappointed.

Absurd premise, but a great action movie with some solid dark humor.

pretty standard dystopian future/sci fi movie with a gimmick (in this instance, a magic train)
this movie requires a LOT of suspension of disbelief

I thought it was fun. It was a lot like Bioshock if you have ever played those games.

a lot more brutal than I thought it would be
kinda hated the ending though

well you have to have the good guys "win" the world...and since the dystopian government was strictly on a train, then i defer to sam l jackson's character from jurassic park: hold onto your butts

I dont think the premise is absurd. I think this type of premise is what is missing from Hollywood today.

humanity finding salvation in a train?
a train that runs around the world, that was somehow completed prior to the ruin of the earth?
a train that runs on tracks that require no maintenance?
it's pretty absurd
the setting is just a gimmick. it's a standard meme for these dystopian movies. you HAVE to have some gimmick

I didn't like it, actually walked out the theatre right after the black lady screamed she wanted chicken.
