Just got accused of hitting and denting some guy's truck(even though I didn't)

So I was just at a BBQ event here in Iowa and as I went back to my car there was a group of about 10 people standing around my car looking at the front left side. For those of you who remember, back in February an illegal immigrant hit me and damaged that part, and since she had insurance I never got it fixed. The damage is still there.
Anyway this group accused me of hitting and denting some guy's big GMC truck, even though I didn't(I backed into the spot!). I denied it but they thought I was lying. I ended up getting in my car and driving off but they said they already took pics, got my plate #, and called the police to show them. They followed me for a bit before I lost them.
Anyway I called my friend and he drove by in his car to the spot of the dented truck and said the cops were there and doing their report. Even though I am not responsible, if the police department contacts me about this what should I do? I still have pics of the original accident in February on my phone as evidence.

Delete the pictures of the previous accident, they are going to blame you for that, too

So you left the scene? Guilty

Should be all you need.
Should not have left the scene though.

Robin Meade has the best looking legs I've ever seen.

Did you file a report on the last accident? That would help clear your name.

Not if he wasn't involved in an accident.
BUT it will be his word against those witnesses.

Leaving the scene== not good.

Yes
Fort Worth PD should have it on file
I left the scene because I knew I was innocent and didn't want to be surrounded by meatheads and their family intimidating me.

They are going to get a TV lawyer, a Chiropractor and maybe an Optometrist and take your insurance company for a ride.

If your phone shows the pics were taken in february, that seems like a good place to start your defense.

If you still have pics on your phone from February why didn't you just show them to sed meatheads?

Did you explain to them that you have pictures of the incident that caused your damage and that a report was filed? I understand not wanting to be in a threatening situation, but leaving doesn't look good.
I would have relished the opportunity to show them all the evidence they needed to admit they were wrong and then I would have asked for an apology. I'm a prick, though.

Had you stayed you could have showed the law those former pics and been done with it. By leaving you appear guilty. Sorry but that's the "gist" of it.

if they come to your house to try and make you delete them, stand your ground

Just keep those pix and don't worry. Call to police department up if you want to expedite this experience and clear it all up. Keep us posted OP.

Your only option now is to abandon/torch your current vehicle in a wooded area.
